St. Albans School of Washington, D.C., is seeking an Upper School math instructor to begin in Fall 2018. The position involves teaching ninth-grade geometry, as well as possibly courses in algebra, precalculus, and calculus. Strong candidates will exhibit an ability to teach with imagination and vigor; the capacity to develop in students strong critical thinking and analytical skills; the ability to create and teach elective courses in such fields as discrete mathematics, probability, or statistics; strong organizational abilities and professionalism; and an interest in collaborating with Math Department faculty. Other duties may include coaching or supervising other afternoon activities. A bachelor’s degree in a mathematics-related field and classroom experience are required, an advanced degree in mathematics preferred.
