To ensure the smooth operations of the day to day accounting and human resource functions of Rectory School. To make sure the School is in compliance with state and federal regulations in these same areas. To support the Rectory Community whom this department serves in a pleasant, efficient and timely manner.
Manage and oversee the day to day accounting and reporting functions, including supervision of three staff members responsible for accounts payable, payroll, student billing, and accounts receivable.
Oversee administrative aspects of human resources including but not limited to new hire on-boarding, oversight of federal and state background checks, drug testing, enrollment of employee benefit programs and other HR functions as needed.
Oversee month, quarterly and year end reconciliations and close.
Ensure that the School complies with all applicable accounting procedures and standards in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Financial Accounting Services Board (FASB).
Proactively review the School’s accounting, financial reporting, and internal control policies and procedures to seek continuous improvement and to achieve government and regulatory compliance.
Prepare various financial reports, including monthly financial statements, and reports for federal, state returns.
Provide periodic analysis and documentation in support of the financial statements, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
Review all balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring reconciliation to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Reconcile gift income with the Development Office records on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Oversee, coordinate, and prepare for the annual audits (financial, 403(b) and workers compensation)
Oversight of on campus ATM and postage meter.
Oversee daily cash requirements
Five to seven years of accounting and finance experience, nonprofit experience preferred
Experience with administrative aspects of human resources.
Proficiency with Excel and computerized accounting systems required (Senior Systems experience a plus)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Highest regard for confidentiality and high ethical standards
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with experience in effectively communicating key data to senior leadership
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under the pressure of deadlines
Ability to manage, mentor, and develop business office staff.
