Linden Hall is looking for a personable, collaborative full-time English instructor with excellent communication skills and an interest in working in an all-girls' school. We welcome engaging, high-energy applicants to work with students in grades 6-12, including a section of ESL instruction. Top candidates will have experience teaching English in an independent school environment. They will also possess a passion for nurturing skills in students with a range of backgrounds and ability levels. We expect all candidates to have strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of developmental needs of early-adolescent girls.
Teach 5 academic classes during the school day in English and ESL
Sponsor or co-sponsor extracurricular activities for middle school or high school students,including work on the yearbook or literary magazine
Collaborate with department members, especially those who share preparation
Perform boarding responsibilities as needed, periodically supervising students on weekends
Improve practice through participation in professional development programs, curriculum development, etc.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of School or other appropriate administrator
Bachelors degree in English required; Masters degree in English or education field preferred
Prior experience with independent schools preferred
Prior experience with teaching English language learners preferred
