Founded in 1929 and ranking among the nation’s premier independent elementary schools, The John Thomas Dye School provides 336 students in grades K-6 an educational experience that is both traditional and dynamic.
Situated atop a wooded canyon on a charming 10- acre campus in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, The John Thomas Dye School has offered generations of young people an idyllic environment for learning. The school is committed to academic excellence as well as to teaching character though its core values of caring, common sense, consideration, cooperation, and courtesy, warmly known as “the 5 C’s.” Exceptionally well prepared for the next phase in their educational careers, JTD graduates have long been welcomed to Los Angeles’ most selective independent secondary schools.
The school’s nearly $44 million endowment and impressive annual giving history – including 18 consecutive years of 100 percent participation by faculty and parents – testify to the deep connections JTD forges among its families and faculty, past and present.
In July 2017, JTD welcomed new Head of School Rose Helm. For the 2017-18 school year, JTD has employed consultants to provide leadership for the vacant Director of Development role. This period of transition has allowed Ms. Helm to reorganize the office and launch a thoughtful search for a Director of Advancement, who will spearhead efforts to devise and develop a comprehensive advancement program that builds upon past successes and reflects the school’s warm and distinctive culture. As a senior member of the administrative team, the Director of Advancement will oversee all fundraising efforts, alumni relations, school archives, and marketing and communications. He or she will also serve as a liaison to the Parents’ Association.
Acting on behalf of The John Thomas Dye School, Wickenden Associates is actively recruiting talented advancement professionals for this appealing opportunity. Prospective candidates are urged to contact Zachary White to discuss the opportunity and the process in more detail. He may be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (609) 683-1355. The application deadline is February 1.
