The Village School of Naples is accepting resumes for a part-time Exceptional Student Education Teacher to teach K-10 students.
The ESE teacher is responsible for coordinating and implementing remediation in conjunction with curriculum at The Village School. In addition, they will be responsible for tracking and assessing their students and reporting progress to the Program Director. The Learning Center provides support to struggling students as well as providing support to the classroom teacher and parents of students. Maintaining fluid communication between classroom teacher, TLC, and parents is paramount. Continuous self-education regarding students with disabilities is a priority as therapies and guidelines for students with disabilities is ever changing. Flexibility and dedication to current teaching pedagogy is a must in this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and implement a robust remedial program
Communicate with parents and teacher
Build and maintain relationships with students, teachers, and parents
Maintain records, track progress, communicate precisely and effectively through multiple platforms
Must have Bachelor's Degree in Education and have completed at least 12 hours of ESE courses at the college level. A current teaching certificate in ESE is preferred. Experience working with students with learning differences preferably in an independent school setting.
