The McGillis School, an established, independent K-8 school in Salt Lake City, Utah has an opening for a part-time middle school Hebrew teacher, beginning Fall 2018. Candidates should have a strong background and experience teaching middle or high school students in Hebrew language and related cultures.
In addition to excellent Foreign Language teaching, experience and/or a willingness to become proficient with comprehensible input methodologies is preferred. This position requires energy, flexibility, and commitment to working with students inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will work very closely with other middle school teachers to develop and implement an integrative and experiential curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to work with middle school students in various capacities outside of academic teaching. The McGillis School seeks teachers who are eager to be actively involved in a wide range of programs, including the roles of academic advisor, coach and/or experiential/innovative education instructor. Effective communication with students and families is also a priority.
Prior to the opening of school in late August, the candidate will be expected to commit time to familiarize him/herself with faculty and staff members, as well as the larger school-wide community
