Community School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Upper School physics teacher to begin August 13, 2018. In addition to physics, this position teaches two to three science electives to be designed with the candidate who is hired. In the past, electives have included geology, astrophysics, science seminar, and flight physics. Additional responsibilities include: serving as an Upper School advisor, participating in the school's extensive Outdoor Program, and leading at least one additional Upper School extracurricular activity. For the right candidate, serving as a live-in Residential Advisor in our Boarding Program is a possibility.
In addition to a strong physics and science teaching background, the right candidate will use innovative and creative methods to bring science to life and inspire students of all abilities and interests. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a collaborative, learner-centered, and inquiry-based educational program where innovation, differentiation, and a growth mindset are valued. Above all, the successful candidate must have a love of education and demonstrate an engaged and flexible approach in the classroom and beyond. This is a full-time position, with benefits.
