Shorecrest is seeking an accomplished and student-centered Instructor in Physics who is capable of teaching all levels in a physics-first science curriculum, including AP Physics I and AP Physics II. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach another subject in the Science department and/or be capable of offering an advanced science/interdisciplinary elective. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in an independent school environment.
Bachelor’s degree in subject area required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Serve as an advisor to 10-12 students, guiding students in academic, extracurricular, social, and personal development, and acting as primary liaison to parents/guardians.
Collaborative and engaged member of the faculty who is committed to students and to teacher growth.
Enthusiasm for embracing the independent school model of mentoring, advising and supporting students outside of the classroom.
Sponsor a student club and/or coach an athletic team.
Commitment to a community that values equity, diversity and inclusion.
Comfortable using technology including online texts, iPads, Pasco Capstone software and computer interface measurements.
Additional Salary Information: Shorecrest uses a banding system that recognizes educational attainment and classroom experience, as well as specific contributions to our community. The bands are based on SAIS and NAIS Southeastern compensation standards.
