Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an assistant JV boys lacrosse coach for the spring 2018 season. The season begins Monday, February 26 and concludes at the latest on Saturday, May 27. Required preseason coaches meetings will be held Tuesday, February 13, 3:30 – 7 p.m.
The assistant JV boys lacrosse coach, reporting to the boys lacrosse program head, joins an athletics program that includes 23 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The boys lacrosse program includes two teams at the Upper School and two teams at the Middle School. The assistant JV boys lacrosse coach will be responsible for coaching duties with the varsity team, as well as other program-wide duties as assigned by the boys lacrosse program head. Specific responsibilities include:
Compliance with all Lakeside School and WHSBLA policies and procedures;
Supervision and instruction of lacrosse student-athletes during all team activities;
Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel;
Attendance at required lacrosse program and interscholastic athletics program meetings;
Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes; and
Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
Successful candidates must be 19 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions from 3 PM daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required. Experience coaching lacrosse at the middle school, high school or college level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
