Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for a JV girls Ultimate Frisbee coach for the spring 2018 season. The season begins Monday, February 26th and concludes at the latest June 2nd. A required preseason coaches meeting will be held during the first week of February.
Responsibilities: The JV Ultimate Frisbee coach, working closely with the Varsity Ultimate Frisbee coach, will report to the Ultimate Frisbee program coordinator and an associate director of the upper school. Specific responsibilities include:
Availability four days a week (Monday through Thursday, occasionally Friday) for practices (3:00-5:30) and games which may run later
Communicate and work with school’s program advisor, captains, and parents
Help plan and run practices
Coach JV games and record scores
Attend tournaments (May 5th and 6th, possibly one other weekend)
Set a positive example for players; and
Promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
Requirements and Qualifications Successful candidates must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday (and occasionally a Friday) during their coaching season, game days hours may differ. Must be available on weekends for tournaments (such as the Girls Invite), and individual or round robin games as required. Experience coaching Ultimate Frisbee at the club, middle school, high school or college level is required. Additional post season play may also be required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a nationwide criminal background check, a Washington State Patrol background check and must possess or obtain prior to the first game a current First Aid and CPR certification.
