Bullis School, an independent K-12 school located in Potomac, MD, seeks energetic and dynamic adjunct online teachers to teach a blended online American English writing course to English-language learners in China at novice-high to intermediate-mid (CEFR) language levels. Students are ages 12-adult in an international-focused academic program. Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree and prior experience teaching English writing/grammar or ESOL. Majors in English, ELA, or other related field a plus. At least two years’ experience of online teaching is required. Experience teaching 5-8th graders a plus. Strong communication and organization skills are a must, plus the ability to engage learners from a distance. Some proficiency in the Chinese language and knowledge of Chinese culture are preferred. Applicants must be based in the US and possess native or native-like fluency in American English.
Synchronous course instruction will be delivered via two-hour video-conference sessions three mornings per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday Eastern time. Supplemental online instruction, activities, and assessments will be delivered via the Bullis Haiku LMS. Compensation is based on enrollment of a maximum of 40 students per course (up to 2 classes of 20 students each).
