Georgetown Day School seeks a High School Math teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Primary job responsibilities include teaching four sections of math at the high school level. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, teachers at the high school serve as a student advisor and assume responsibility for a major student activity as part of their general duties. Rich content, creative pedagogy and authentic relationships are essential components of a GDS classroom. Providing those elements, working collaboratively with colleagues, and placing the students’ interests and experiences at the heart of the classroom are essential components of the job. Qualifications: a B.S. in Mathematics or a related field is required. A Master’s degree and three years or more of teaching experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to teach math through calculus.
