Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent, Catholic all-girls PS-12 Sacred Heart School is searching for an Upper School Learning Specialist.
Supporting both new students and current students with documented learning differences through regularly scheduled meetings and pop-ins maximize academic success and skill development.
*Ensure student accommodation plans are updated as needed and shared with faculty in a timely basis. *Serve as a member of the Upper School faculty and complete all of the duties and expectations. *Working with the Upper School crisis team, determine which students need intervention, testing, or accommodations to ensure success at Stuart. *Working with the faculty on developing skills, techniques, and ways to differentiate instruction for teaching the variety of learners in the Upper School. *Coordinate with counselors, Dean of Students, health faculty, and advisors to help student%39s health and wellness is comprehensive supported alongside their learning needs. *Lead regular meetings with Learning Center staff to ensure consistency and cohesion of support through Stuart's various divisions. *Teach one Upper School Study Skills course. *Maintain frequent and clear communication with parents of students being served on their progress and ensuring parents are aware of their successes and challenges. *Run internal diagnostic testing and evaluations, if possible. *Liaise with local and state education systems to ensure Stuart and our students make use of programming and funding from the public education system to ensure success. *Collaborate with the College Guidance Office regarding individual student's eligibility for accommodations, special services in higher education for fall 2018.
Master's degree in related field required, training and ability to perform psychoeducational evaluations a plus.
Experience in academic support in an independent school a plus.
Management or leadership experience preferred.
A successful candidate would have strong written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
