St. Andrew's Episcopal School is seeking an innovative Sixth Grade Science teacher for a full-time, permanent position starting August 2018 at our 31st Street campus in Austin, TX. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in science, engineering, or other STEM field, several years teaching experience, excellent character, a collaborative orientation, and a passion for teaching middle school science. St. Andrew’s increasingly utilizes an interconnected STEM curriculum in which students apply skills and knowledge across disciplines in hands-on activities, so ideal candidates will have experience with Project-Based instruction and other forms of student-centered learning, possess strong technology integration skills, and be adept in science lab management protocols and safety. This full-time position will involve teaching four sections of 6th grade science, serving as an advisor, overseeing student field work, and additional duties such as on-campus supervision, or supervising a student organization/club. Prior experience with social emotional learning curricula is ideal. Salary will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
