The Mathematics and Computer Department has an opening for a highly-qualified, dynamic, and innovative math teacher who is deeply knowledgeable and thoughtful about mathematics, computational thinking, curricular issues, and pedagogy. The Hotchkiss School is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities.
A B.A. in Mathematics, or a related field required; master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. Several years of teaching experience, ideally at the secondary level, is preferred. The ideal candidate will be:

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include teaching math in our core curriculum, with the opportunity to teach electives as available and needed. The applicant will be expected to participate in community life through service in Hotchkiss’ residential, advising, and co-curricular programs. Typical responsibilities of a full-time faculty member at Hotchkiss include teaching four classes, coaching two seasons (or the equivalent) of a co-curricular 1-2 nights of duty per week and one weekend of duty per month in a residential dorm, and periodic service on faculty committees and/or as an advisor to student clubs.
Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and education level, and includes year-round housing (plus utilities), and meals when school is in session.
