Work with students individually and in small groups to teach reading, writing, math and study skills, organization and planning skills Assess and track students progress in literacy and math Collaborate with Lower School Psychologist and Director of Learning Support to to determine if a student qualifies for in-school testing and learning accommodations based on formal testing and classroom data Create teaching and learning strategy profiles for students with formal testing Support faculty to understand student learning profiles and to differentiate classroom instruction for students with varied learning styles or specific learning challenges Participate in grade level meetings and Lower School Student Support Team as appropriate Provide professional development to teachers around topics related to learning variability Lead family workshops and talks in collaboration with other learning specialists and Director of Learning Support Collaborate with and maintain active communication with students' families and outside supports regarding students' progress, challenges, learning needs Teaching experience and Masters Degree in Special Education or closely related field required. Experience with identification of learning differences, intervention instruction, and curriculum design is preferred.
