Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a full-time Clapp Teaching Fellow for the 2018-19 school year. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
This is an exciting opportunity for recent college graduates wanting to enter the field of elementary education. The Fellow will work with most elementary grades (Kindergarten through Fourth Grade) with the goal of developing instructional practices that are pedagogically and developmentally sound. The intern will learn effective classroom management techniques and focus on student achievement. Experienced teachers will share their skills and expertise with the Fellow and will provide instructional support paramount to the long term success of new teachers.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, and have had some prior experience working with elementary aged children. Candidates must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
