SAN ANTONIO ACADEMY is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented and self-motivated team member who will help lead fundraising efforts. The Assistant Director manages and executes a comprehensive program of relationship-building and fundraising with an emphasis on communications and volunteer management for a thriving school community. Three main areas are the responsibility of the Assistant Director (with collaboration and supervision from the Director): Alumni Relations, Annual Fund, Grandparents.
Primary responsibilities include:
Serve as the primary contact for a thriving alumni community (spanning seven decades) and engage alumni in the life and future of the school through both relationship-building efforts and fundraising efforts.
Support and manage alumni volunteers as they engage in the mission of the school.
Serve as the primary leader of the annual fund program for all constituents: alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, friends, foundations and corporations.
Create and execute a strategy for a comprehensive, wide-reaching and forward-thinking annual fund program that propels the school into its future.
Identify, recruit, train and manage volunteers, board members and staff regarding best practices for the annual fund program.
Research, identify and cultivate potential donors.
Serve as the primary contact for Grandparents of students by maintaining a positive and productive grandparents program.
Support and manage grandparent volunteers as they engage in the life of the school.
Other responsibilities include:
Work with various departments on campus to maintain positive and energetic connections throughout the campus community and outside of the campus community.
Cultivate and solicit gifts from prospects and meet assigned fundraising goals.
Event planning and coordination.
With the Communications Department, oversee and pursue innovative and effective methods for communication related to the above areas (AF, Alumni and GP).
Write and edit compelling promotional copy and articles.
Maintain detailed records and processes.
Maintain a superior level of professionalism in the workplace and among volunteers and constituents.

3+ years of proven experience with annual fund and volunteer management preferred.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Expertise with Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of Raisers Edge or donor management software preferred.
Ability to work independently, as a self-starter, and as a team member.
Strong presentation skills and communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
Diplomacy with a strong ability to work effectively with people.
Project management experience and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, confidential records.
A strong work ethic, an outgoing personality and a zeal for relationship building are all considered a plus for this position.
