Position Summary:The Dean of Faculty reports to the Head of School and serves as a member of the school management team. This position will help maintain congruence between the school’s mission and its academic activities. The Dean of Faculty is responsible for evaluating and developing faculty, ensuring high quality instruction, and fostering a positive school culture.
Work with the Head of School on the hiring and retention of faculty
Offer suggestions for modifications in faculty assignments and schedules
Establish a new teacher orientation program
Establish an in-service education program for faculty
Observe, supervise, and evaluate faculty members in the execution of curriculum
Supervise the teaching process and offer suggestions for improvement
Evaluate the current academic programs and make modifications where needed

Bachelor’s degree or higher required
Experience working and teaching students with learning differences
Excellent people skills, patience and a flexible attitude
Passionate about education and creating a positive work environment
Background in Orton-Gillingham preferred
Certified member of the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners and Educators is preferred
