Georgetown Day School, an independent day school in Washington, D.C., seeks a full time Lower/Middle School Spanish teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Primary job responsibilities include teaching five sections of Spanish. Rich content, creative pedagogy and authentic relationships are essential components of a GDS classroom. The ability to provide those elements, work collaboratively with colleagues, and place children’s interests and experiences at the heart of the classroom are essential components of the job. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess native fluency in Spanish, an ability to teach at all levels of the target language, and experience working and teaching in a diverse school community. An undergraduate degree, ideally in Spanish language and teaching, is required. A master’s degree and three to five years teaching Spanish at the elementary school level are preferred.
