Walsingham Academy is conducting a search for a Director of the Lower School. Founded in 1947 by the Sisters of Mercy, Walsingham Academy is a co-educational, Catholic elementary and college preparatory high school program. The school is rooted in the values and traditions set forth by the Sisters of Mercy, which embodies the development of the whole child. Walsingham Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Virginia Catholic Education Association. The school has earned a reputation for academic excellence in a Christ-centered, value-based environment that respects the faith traditions of its students.
Together with the President and Upper School Director, the Lower School Director completes the Academy’s administrative team. The Director is responsible to ensure mission integration, provide instructional leadership, ensure overall program and curriculum development, and administer daily operations.
The ideal candidate for this position is a practicing Catholic holding a master’s degree in administration. A combined minimum of 5 years teaching and administrative experience at the elementary level is required. The candidate should hold, or be eligible to obtain, Virginia State Elementary Certification.
