Head-Royce School is seeking a dedicated Lower School PE educator to focus on building skills that promote mature and healthy physical development, greater flexibility and coordination in students in grades K-5. The PE teachers will collaboratively ensure a well-rounded experience for all students, coordinating curriculum and schedules for the benefit of our students and program. As a member of the PE department, candidates will also be expected to coach in our Athletics program.
Collaborative, flexible teacher; able to work both within the PE department and within the Lower School with other student-focused educators.
Clear communicator with students, colleagues and parents.
Demonstrated expertise in teaching Physical Education
Demonstrated knowledge of a child’s physical, social and emotional development
Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills
Knowledge of PE Programs, knowledge of the SPARK PE Development program a plus
Minimum 5 years experience teaching primary and elementary level students; Experience coaching.
CPR and First Aid certification required, provided and updated through NNM programs
Additional Qualifications we hope to find, but not required:
Experience teaching gymnastics, performing arts, movement, yoga a plus.
Advanced degrees in the field of education and/or physical education or kinesiology
