The Loomis Chaffee School seeks an experienced, dynamic, articulate, creative, positive, and enthusiastic individual to join its Alumni/Development Office to lead a fundraising team that coordinates and executes the school's ever-growing and highly successful Annual Fund program.
For the last several years, the Loomis Chaffee Annual Fund has repeatedly surpassed very ambitious dollar and participation goals. During the recently completed Our Time Is Now: Centennial Campaign for Loomis Chaffee, the Annual Fund broke records every year, including 2016-17 when we reached $4,270,808, the highest total in the schools' history. Raising $22,598,586 over six years, surpassing the Campaign's $20 million Annual Fund goal, and achieving a 51% increase overall, from $2.82 million in 2011 to $4.27 million in 2017 while averaging 38% alumni participation over the course of the Campaign, the Annual Fund runs strong and is an important priority for the school.
The Director of the Annual Fund will lead a team of three and report to the Director of Development. This is a full-time, year-round position.
Develop and implement long and short-term strategies to reach established Annual Fund goals.
Oversee the annual solicitation of over 13,000 constituents (including over 10,000 alumni, 675 current parents, and over 3,000 parents of alumni and friends).
Write, organize, and facilitate Annual Fund appeals with variable segmentation strategies, including mail, email, social media channels.
Manage, coordinate, and reinvigorate long-standing class agent and reunion giving programs.
Solicit Annual Fund gifts in person and on the telephone as required.
Work closely with the Head of School, the Associate Head for External Relations, and Major Gifts Officers on the solicitation of the school's major gift and leadership Annual Fund donors.
Manage Annual Fund gift data and reporting processes and procedures, and evaluate progress toward goals.
Communicate on a regular basis progress of the Annual Fund to various constituencies, including the Head of School, Board of Trustees, volunteers, colleagues in the office, and faculty.
Supervise two Annual Fund professionals and an administrative assistant.

5-10 years of development experience, preferably with previous Annual Fund experience at an independent school or in higher education
Proven ability to meet ambitious fundraising goals
Excellent management and leadership skills
Affinity for working in a collaborative environment and as a consummate team player
Comprehension of and facility in operating development databases- Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge experience preferred
Ability to interpret and analyze data
Experience in effective planning, prioritizing, and attention to details
Ability to concurrently oversee multiple projects and initiatives
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written: The successful candidate must interact well with Alumni/Development staff members, Trustees, donors, Annual Fund volunteers, and members of the school community.
Bachelors degree required
Flexibility to work nights and weekends when necessary
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
