Colorado Rocky Mountain School is seeking an experienced upper-school mathematics teacher. This position will be a two-year interim position beginning in the fall of 2018 (second year pending a successful first year review). Applicants should have teaching experience and a degree in a math-related field. CRMS faculty employ a student-centered approach to teaching, meeting individual student’s needs in developing an academically vibrant and skilled level of scholarship. Applicants will also contribute to our residential and advisory programs and are expected to act effectively within a diverse cultural and social framework. All faculty participate in our active program and must demonstrate proficiencies related to our outdoor curriculum and/or sports programs.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Teach three to four academic courses
Support boarding students as a dorm parent on a residential team
Mentor a group of students as an advisor
Instruct active program curriculum including trips and mountain sports
Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues
Foster diversity, inclusion, and social justice to promote a healthy learning environment
Take on other duties as needed
Execute all duties in a timely and professional manner

Bachelor’s Degree in related field; advanced degree and/or teaching credential preferred
Experience teaching Algebra 1 and/or Geometry (one year minimum)
Ability to teach diverse mathematics offerenings preferred
Demonstrated experience and skill in the effective use of technology and integrating technological applications in the classroom
Ability to effectively engage as a dorm parent and advisor
Proficiencies related to our outdoor and/or mountain sports curricula (mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, skiing) previous institutional experience and mountain biking expertise preferred
Must have or obtain Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification
