Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a Registered Nurse for its Health Services department. The Registered Nurse reports directly to the Director of Health Services and assists the Health Care Coordinator on the DC campus with the medical care and supervision of students in grades 5-12. In addition to promoting optimum health for all students and employees in the school, he/she will administer first aid, administer medications, assist with the maintenance of student health records and participate in other operational responsibilities of the Health Services Offices.
The ideal candidate will be a task-oriented, highly organized and dedicated individual who is able to maintain confidentiality and provide keen customer service, inclusive of establishing and maintaining effective communication, both orally and in writing, with school administrators, employees, parents, and students. A bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program and a current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in Washington, D.C. are required, along with the ability to obtain licensure in Maryland. Current certification in BLS CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers is also required.
One to three years of recent nursing experience in community health, pediatrics, emergency care and triage or experience in a school setting is preferred.
