Charles Wright Academy is looking to hire a big thinker with experience in enterprise software solutions to manage our school’s Student Information System called Veracross. The right candidate will have experience administering and troubleshooting database software, defining and documenting process, working collaboratively, and providing customer support.
The School Information Manager is responsible for the accurate maintenance of the Charles Wright Academy Veracross platform. This role will coordinate, collaborate, and lead admissions constituents, operations and academic leadership, development and communications teams, teachers, students and parents, along with the vendor to ensure the ongoing success of the Veracross platform.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Work with the admissions team to ensure timely and accurate registration of new students and withdrawal of departing students.
Establish best practice processes for, and assist division and academic leadership to maintain and manage homeroom, course, and class enrollment records.
Work together with divisional leadership and scheduler to ensure scheduling scenarios are complete and available in a timely fashion.
Coordinate with school and divisional leadership as well as admissions to close prior academic year and roll forward with new academic year.
Collaborate with division and academic leadership to manage academic reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely data flow between systems.
Work together with school leadership and admissions to ensure timely and accurate online re-enrollment.
Maintain database integrity, protocols, and security through regular monitoring, error correction, and data clean-up
Assess faculty and staff training needs and provide both training and ongoing support, enabling faculty and staff to use the software effectively and maintain data accuracy.
Stay abreast of industry trends, new system features, and upgrades.
Provide direct technical support to faculty, staff, students and, on occasion, parents.
Contribute to conversations and initiatives regarding campus-wide technology mission.
The successful candidate will have earned a bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree is preferred. At least 5+ years of relevant, progressively responsible post graduate experience is required. Candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of relational databases with a focus on streamlining business process workflow. Database and records management experience is necessary, preferably in an education or non-profit environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a high degree of attention to detail along with accurate processes. Candidate will possess the ability to manage competing demands, prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to frequent or unexpected changes. The candidate will be detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills. Candidate will be actively engaged in professional development and current on best practices. Familiarity with both Microsoft and Google G-Site office applications is preferred. Experience with Veracross is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of independent school communities and culture, preferably in a PreK-12 environment. Candidate should have experience leading and engaging all stakeholders – administrators, colleagues, parents, students and vendors. Candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, be personable, positive, and maintain a helpful personality and a customer service mindset. The candidate must be sensitive, trustworthy with demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Candidate will be a creative problem solver, exuding maturity and excellent judgement.
