Sugar Bowl Academy, a boarding and day school specializing in the academic and athletic development of competitive skiers in grades 8-12, seeks an innovative, energetic and dedicated upper school history/social sciences teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Rich content, innovative pedagogy, and authentic relationships are essential components of an SBA classroom. The ability to provide those elements while working collaboratively with colleagues and placing the best interest of our student-athletes at the heart of the classroom experience are vital to this position.
The ideal candidate will have the capacity to teach AP Human Geography, World Geography, World History, and senior electives in a college preparatory environment as well as the initiative to propose new courses and directions for the Social Sciences Department.
Sugar Bowl Academy is a residential and day school serving 70+ students in grades 8-12 located eight miles from the town of Truckee, California.
