The Peck School, a co-ed, K-8, independent school in Morristown, NJ, seeks aspiring professionals to join the Lower School Associate Teacher Program. The Associate Teacher Program places novice teachers in the classroom alongside master teachers to participate in all aspects of instruction, planning, and daily school life. Associate Teachers also receive broad support for their personal and professional growth through regular meetings, extensive professional development opportunities, and immersive classroom experiences. Additional responsibilities may include coaching, after school enrichment classes, and other duties as assigned by the Division Head. This position provides full benefits, including medical insurance, and a salary of $25,500. Housing is available on a limited basis. Opportunities for earning additional income through stipended work are also available through the school.
The ideal Associate Teacher will display intellectual curiosity, independent initiative, a thirst for collaboration and team-oriented work, and a willingness to take on new challenges. An undergraduate or master’s degree is required, as well as demonstrated experience working with children. A background in elementary education is prefered. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
