Cary Academy is seeking an accomplished, imaginative, team-oriented and adventurous educator to teach language arts to seventh-grade students. Cary Academy takes an innovative approach to the humanities in the Middle School, integrating language arts and social studies to enrich each content area and to allow students to make important connections across disciplines. The seventh-grade language arts curriculum is tied to seventh-grade world history and provides students with creative and meaningful opportunities to further develop their literary analysis, composition and oral communication skills.
Candidates for this position must be committed to understanding and meeting the unique development needs of Middle School students.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in the content area (advanced degree preferred). Experience: At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in the content area with Middle School students. Background in social studies in addition to language arts would be considered a plus. Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above.
