Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent, coeducational, national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K–12 on a 125 acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
Milton Academy seeks a Grade Three Homeroom Teacher for an opening beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.
Subjects of focus include Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies and Science. Desired qualities include superior content knowledge, competency teaching Grade Three or a lower elementary curriculum, solid understanding of the developmental needs of school aged students, the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment, the skills to communicate well with colleagues and parents, experience and comfort with technology, and the ability to integrate technology skills into curricular units. We seek a teacher who is a lifelong learner and who balances engagement, innovation, relevance, and rigor. Experience teaching and implementing Lucy Calkins Units of Study Literacy and Investigations Math is highly desired.
