The Calverton School seeks a full-time science teacher to teach IB Environmental Systems and Societies and 10th grade Integrated Science in the Upper School beginning in August of 2018. This position will include teaching both years of IB ESS at the Standard Level and 2 (or 3) sections of the 10th grade Integrated Science course, advising a group of 8-12 upper school students, and participating in the co-curricular life of the school.

The ideal candidate will have previous teaching experience and familiarity with the IB Programme, the ability to both teach interdisciplinary concepts at an advanced level and engage 10th graders in the concepts of both chemistry and biology. Candidates should hold, at minimum, a BS in a science field or in a related field and have significant training in the experimental sciences.

The Calverton School a college preparatory, day (and now boarding) school located in Huntingtown, Maryland, approximately 45 minutes east of Washington, D.C. and 30 minutes south of Annapolis, MD. The school enrolls 260 students in Preschool through Grade 12, and all of the school’s graduates are accepted into four-year colleges and universities. Students come from five counties, including Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, Anne Arundel and Prince George's.
