SouthLake Christian Academy (SLCA), founded in 1994, seeks an inspiring and forward-thinking leader to develop and implement a fresh vision for its next 25 years. The new Head of School will be excited to serve as a conduit for evangelism and lead SLCA’s call to make disciples. SLCA is a school that knows its students through their hearts and fosters Christ-like relationships both inside and outside the classroom. SLCA provides a strong combination of an authentic, outstanding, and academically rigorous, biblically-integrated college prep curriculum. SLCA nurtures an atmosphere of academic rigor without compromising its biblical foundation.
The Head of School reports to the School Board and will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership to advance the school’s mission of creating disciples for Christ. The Head will provide leadership in all academic areas as well as the development of fundraising efforts to support the school’s mission. Recognized as a leader in Christian School education, SLCA is a loving, caring, thoughtful, compassionate, and intellectual community where students feel they are as much a part of a family as of a school. SLCA has demonstrated a strong commitment to Biblical shepherding, and the care of students, staff, and families is at the center of everything they do.
SLCA was founded as a ministry of SouthLake Presbyterian (PCA) Church. Located in the scenic Lake Norman region of Charlotte, NC, SLCA draws its students from a six-county region surrounding beautiful Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in North Carolina. The school is located approximately 20 miles north of the City of Charlotte. The school started with just 23 students in grades K-3 and has now grown to a campus of 600 students in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade. Typically, 100% of SLCA graduates go on to college. SLCA is proud to offer an outstanding athletic program and offers competition for middle and high school athletes in 14 different sports. SLCA students are to be actively engaged in the arts. Students model biblical character through multiple service and mission opportunities.
