Fort Worth Country Day seeks an enthusiastic professional who preferably has experience in both Independent School and Middle School education. Reporting to the Head of Middle School, this successful candidate will be:
Energized by working with middle school aged students
Able to promote and model the FWCD Core Values (Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Courage, Integrity and Scholarship)
A team player who works well with others in the division and the K-12 department
A person who represents the school in a favorable manner and who can be counted on to be flexible, positive and punctual in performance of all duties
Continually driven toward self-improvement
Excellent communication skills
Experience teaching writing, ideally with a Pre AP or AP writing background
Experience with middle school students
Sense of humor
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in, Education or a related field
A generous spirit and positive attitude
Excellent classroom management skills
Experience as a student advisor/mentor
An obvious passion for their subject matter and for teaching
The ability to demonstrate a wide range of presentation techniques in order to adapt activities for different learning styles
An ability to demonstrate commitment to student success by offering extra help hours
The willingness and skills to lead students in at least two extra-curricular duties
