The John Cooper School has a full-time position for a Lower School Teacher available for the 2018-19 school year. The open position is for a Fourth Grade Language Arts teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lower School teachers report to the Lower School Head and work closely with the Assistant Lower School Head, faculty, support staff, and parents. A Lower School teacher must be able to communicate well with both children and adults. Professionalism, a strong work ethic, flexibility, and a genuine love for children are essential in this position.
Knowledge of current best practices in elementary (and particularly Language Arts) education
Strong commitment to students’ progress and success
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Willingness to be self-reflective, learn, and grow in a collegial environment
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in elementary education; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of lead teaching experience
