St. Margaret’s is seeking a Film and Media Teacher. This position will ensure excellence in the film and media areas of the arts by developing curriculum, supporting student development, and collaborating with other disciplines. Qualified candidates will be able to teach a range of genres and work collaboratively on discipline specific and interdisciplinary projects. They will also be able to teach video and media production skills ranging in topic from narrative story telling, experimental film, documentary, projection video art, interactive media and installation.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee academic film program and film crew using a range of video and media production genres
Expand and develop curriculum
Teach Upper and Middle school film classes
Guide students and organize works for art exhibits
Oversee student film crew for specific performing arts events
Bachelor’s degree in Film and/or Video Production or related field (MFA preferred)
Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a school setting
Understanding of technical aspects of film from lighting and use of a camera to digital editing software
