Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School French teacher who is passionate about language and cultures and committed to connecting with and supporting students. The ideal candidate will use the ACTFL Can-Do Statements along with the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines to structure and assess student learning. Interest in or experience using standards-based grading is also highly valued. Strong candidates will, furthermore, be well-versed in educational technology, and have demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible and flexible team member who understands that commitments to the community extend beyond the classroom. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advisory, department and division meetings, parent communications, grade level meetings, and assemblies. Other opportunities for involvement within the school community include coaching, clubs, committee work, and leading summer trips.

The candidate must also submit a recent assignment and grading rubric, along with a 1-page rationale and reflection on said work. Prior teaching experience is required, preferably at the appropriate level.
