St. Johnsbury Academy, an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school for grades 9 to 12 and a post-graduate year, seeks a Dean of International Students.
Teaching administrator role requiring professional-level faculty credentials to provide a leadership role in our academic year international residential program and direct, oversee and teach the summer intensive ESL program
working with campus life team on issues related to conflict resolution;
creating learning opportunities related to current global events;
monitoring international students’ progress and development (academic and social);
overseeing and teaching intercultural communications;
conducting trainings for new teachers on cross cultural communications;
developing and teaching lessons plans, with assessments aligned with Academy standards;
modeling best classroom practices, including an understanding of students’ developmental and learning differences;
residing in campus housing with overnight dorm supervision duties;
and assuming a leadership role in performing responsibilities such as faculty advisor for extracurricular activities or coaching.
Master’s degree in Education, Conflict Transformation, or related discipline plus three academic years of experience teaching English as a Second Language. Must be willing to coach sports or lead extracurricular activities each academic year and work full-time year round.
Overnight dorm supervision is required. Permanent, F/T, exempt position.
Proof of authority to work in U.S.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
