Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. We are currently seeking a full-time Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2018–19 school year.
Qualified candidates will have experience working with students in elementary, middle, and high school, and an ability to teach a comprehensive physical education program across these ages which builds confidence, cooperation, physical health, strength, sports skills, positive social skills, and the value of exercise. In addition, we are prioritizing candidates who would be interested in collaborating with Lincoln’s Health Team to develop a comprehensive K-12 Health and Wellness curriculum. Health teaching responsibilities will be determined by individual candidate’s experience in this area.
Specific responsibilities of the position include N-8 curriculum development, daily planning and teaching, as well as coaching one season in our after-school, interscholastic athletics program. A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/health and wellness is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
