There is an opening for a Middle-Upper School History teacher at Fayetteville Academy for the 2018-2019 school year. This position is full-time and will begin in mid-August of 2018.
The position’s primary responsibilities will be the teaching of AP US History classes for 11th grade students in addition to North Carolina History for 7th graders. The candidate must be flexible in a willingness to teach additional courses within the History Department. Experience with the expectations and rigor of an AP curriculum is advantageous. The candidate must be willing to participate in an AP audit for AP US History and attend an AP Institute for that course over the summer months. Additionally, the candidate must have some working knowledge of North Carolina history.
The successful candidate must minimally have a bachelor’s degree (with a master’s degree preferred) and at least two years teaching experience in the discipline of history. Independent school experience is preferable.
