St. Francis Episcopal School of Houston, invites applicants for the position of Dance Program Coordinator for Middle and Upper School with an emphasis in classical dance and musical theatre. We seek a collaborative colleague who aims to contribute to the ongoing creative and intellectual development of our existing performing arts programs and is excited to create a dance program at SFES. This cross-divisional position is a full-time, ten month position beginning in the Fall 2018 semester. Applicants should demonstrate collaborative, innovative pedagogical skills, and the expertise and enthusiasm to teach students with all levels of experience. The ideal candidate should welcome the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of school life, work well with the existing Middle School Team, and be excited to join the new Upper School fine arts creative team. We are looking for an upbeat, flexible, adaptive, inspirational, creative partner who approaches new experiences with a sense of humor and a joy for their craft. In addition to teaching dance classes in the MS and US, this position would serve as the choreographer for both the MS and US musicals and be responsible for various dance shows/recitals/performances throughout the year such as holiday concerts, open houses, and development events. We are looking for a candidate who has experience in classical, contemporary, and musical theatre dance. Professional experience is a plus and the commitment to continuing to work as a practicing artist outside of St. Francis is expected. This position would be included in the recruitment of additional high caliber teaching artists and provide leadership, support, information, and motivation to those who join our creative team, while ensuring the ethical and inclusive treatment of anyone who works at, or comes into contact with the arts department at SFES.
