Founded in 1938 as a proprietary boarding school for boys through grade 8, MCDS has evolved in remarkable ways over the past 78 years. Now an independent coeducational day school of approximately 1,250 students, age 3 through grade 12, MCDS serves a wonderfully diverse group of families drawn from more than 42 nations. The school’s first twelfth grade class graduated in 1981. Today, the Upper School includes more than 450 students, instructed by a dedicated faculty and staff numbering more than 50.
