Milwaukee Montessori School seeks a dynamic maternity leave substitute teacher for a mixed-age classroom of 4th 5th and 6th-grade students. The position begins immediately and will conclude at the end of the school year in early June. The candidate will have a genuine interest in working in an independent school community.
The ideal candidate will also possess: an understanding of the academic, social, and developmental needs of the age group; the ability to work closely with students, parents, and colleagues; a commitment to the mission and culture of the school; and an interest in applying student-centered teaching practices, including the use of technology and innovative pedagogical strategies. Undergraduate study of the sciences, mathematics, and some history, or graduate work in those disciplines are preferred.
Other contractual responsibilities for this position will include: helping to supervise student activities, attending school events, and general involvement in the life of the school.
