We are currently seeking a full-time “Alumni Relations Manager” to develop and lead an Alumni fundraising and engagement strategy. This position will coordinate and manage all aspects of Alumni Relations, special events and projects. They will be responsible for generating support from Alumni, Parents of Alumni, while developing and maintaining the school’s relationship with these groups. This position works closely with the President and Advancement Team to implement strategies, run events and raise funds.
Coordinate and oversee Alumni Relations for both Milken Alumni and Parents of Alumni.
Recruit and develop a strong and supportive Alumni Board and Parents of Alumni Board to work closely with on engagement, communications and fundraising.
Identify areas of increased fundraising among Alumni and Parents of Alumni and implements strategies to achieve financial goals.
Plan events as they pertain to Alumni and Parents of Alumni and general support of Advancement fundraising and community building efforts and events.
Manage the marketing and promotions of the Milken Alumni Association “brand”.
Ensure relevant and regular communications to the Alumni and Parents of Alumni constituencies, including managing solicitations.
Manage and maintain the Alumni and Parents of Alumni database.
Generate reports to guide and increase fundraising results.
Oversee and maintain the Alumni presence on both the Milken website and Milken social media platforms.
Solicit alumni support and attendance of Milken events and initiatives.
Meet both Alumni and Parents of Alumni fundraising goals.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; ability to work independently and as part of a team; innovative and seeks a challenge.
Superior interpersonal, organizational and time management skills and an ability to collaborate and effectively interface with colleagues and volunteers.
A working knowledge of fundraising with proven results.
Excellent donor relations and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written at all levels with parents, students, alumni, alumni families, extended families and friends, donors, and employees.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent knowledge of MS office suite and experience using the Raiser’s Edge database or equivalent donor database.
Technologically savvy, including use and mastery of all social media platforms.
Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Must have initiative and use proper judgment with moderate supervision.
High level of diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
College degree with three or more years experience in not-for-profit organizations, Alumni Relations and fundraising event planning.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience.
