The Winsor School is an independent girls' school for academically promising and motivated students in grades five through twelve. The school has an immediate opening for a part-time Communications Specialist (15 hours/week). This is a temporary position to begin immediately and run through June 30, 2017. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for writing and editing engaging content about the daily life of the school for Winsor’s website, social media, and publications. The successful candidate will be a flexible and motivated self-starter with the resourcefulness to seek out and write vivid, compelling stories. As part of the Communications and Advancement teams, the person will also provide in-house photography and will support and assist in the office’s ongoing projects, as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, English, or equivalent.
2-4 years of professional experience.
Exceptional written, visual and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Skills in basic DSLR photography and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, preferred.
Prior experience with website CMS and social media (Hootsuite, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) highly desirable.
