Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg Florida is seeking an experienced early childhood educator/leader to collaborate in the leadership of the Experiential School of Tampa Bay with the Head of Lower School, Assistant Head of Lower School and faculty. The current program serves 85 3 and 4 year old children and their 11 faculty members.
Belief in the importance of experiential education and collaborative leadership and teaching is essential. The Director is fully engage in curriculum development, faculty and staff development, parental education and counselling and the admissions process of the Experiential School and Kindergarten children.
Supervises, manages and oversees the development of the teachers and support staff
Assists the Headmaster and Head of Lower School with recruitment, selection, and orientation of new and replacement faculty
Collaborates with Head of Lower School in the evaluation and development of faculty
Collaborates with Curriculum Coordinator in the development of curriculum and selection of materials
Ensures communication of information that impacts Alpha and JK, students and their families
Serves as a consultant to faculty in manners of classroom management, teaching methods and school procedures
Assists in preparation of budget, Handbook and all regulatory documentation for The Experiential School
Provides academic guidance to students
Coordinates grade representatives for Alpha and JK classes and encourages parental volunteers as well as provides appropriate roles and guidelines
Assists Admissions Team with tours, observations, selection of students and parent/guardian support
Performs other duties as assigned by the Headmaster and Head of Lower School
Master’s degree or post graduate work in subject matter and/or educational administration
A minimum of five years teaching and administration experience in an independent school environment
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills
Proficient in using technology in instruction and web based tools
