Berkeley invites applicants for a full-time, twelve-month faculty position as an associate college counselor and academic advisor. We seek a candidate who will guide our students in all aspects of the college search and admission process. The college counselor will work with upper division students and their parents, supporting them throughout the college selection and application process. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Experience in college counseling and/or selective college admissions is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; familiarity with goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school; the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student population; knowledge of colleges, their academic programs, admissions policies, and financial aid policies and procedures; exemplary writing skills; prior experience writing letters of recommendation preferred.
