High School Principal
Notre Dame Academy is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for young women sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. As such, it is a school grounded in gospel values and the charism of St. Julie Billiart. Founded in 1853 in Boston, the Academy relocated to a 68 acre campus in Hingham, Massachusetts in 1965. With a student population of nearly 600 in grades 7-12, the Academy serves families from Boston to Cape Cod.
The President of Notre Dame Academy invites applications for the position of Principal, to assume duties beginning July 1, 2017.
The Principal of Notre Dame Academy is the instructional head of the school and assists the President in the spiritual and administrative leadership of the school. She/he oversees the daily operation of the academic program and works in conjunction with an administrative team. The Principal is accountable to the President and directs the academic program in accordance with the values and policies of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Boston, and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The ideal candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic, strongly committed to the Catholic education of young women in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field, and have a minimum of five years’ experience teaching at the high school level and five years’ experience as a school administrator. Ideally, the candidate should be familiar with the IB Diploma Programme.
