Middlesex School seeks a permanent full-time Academic Support Coordinator for the 2017-2018 academic year. Middlesex is a coeducational, college-preparatory, boarding secondary school of 395 students located in Concord, Massachusetts. We seek candidates with independent school experience and, preferably, an advanced degree, to coordinate the School’s programmed support for students with diagnosed learning disabilities. The Coordinator assists families and school personnel when referrals for neuro-psychological testing are warranted and is responsible for reviewing all neuro-psychological profiles submitted to the School and publishing summaries for use by classroom teachers. The Coordinator chairs the School’s Testing Committee, helping to determine the appropriate support and accommodations for students who have submitted educational testing. The Coordinator meets weekly with 14-16 individual students who have been identified by the Academic Office as requiring additional study skills support. The Coordinator also hosts a weekly academic support seminar that is open to all students, formulates professional development opportunities regarding learning style differences for the full faculty, and works with the College Office to manage appropriate documentation for standardized tests. In addition, the position will include evening/weekend supervisory duties. A willingness to participate with enthusiasm in all aspects of a residential school community is essential.
