ISACS, a leading accrediting association with current membership of 237 independent schools in 13 states across the central U.S., seeks its next Director of Accreditation to begin July 1, 2017. Primary responsibilities include:
Leading and overseeing all aspects of the process of accreditation;
Visiting member schools to advocate for continuous school improvement and educate faculty and staff about the steps in the accreditation process;
Contributing to the national and international dialogue on accreditation by participating in monthly meetings of the directors of accreditation associated with the Commission on Accreditation;
With the Accreditation Review Committee Chair, planning and participating in the work of the Committee in considering the evolution of ISACS accreditation standards and the status of individual member schools, both resulting in recommendations to the ISACS Board;
With the ISACS President, working to move ISACS forward toward achieving its strategic goals, including improved visiting team training and effectively leveraging technology in the accreditation process;
Supervising the ISACS Coordinator of Accreditation, responsible for assembling visiting teams for accreditation and providing support to the work of accreditation;
Collaborating as one of seven ISACS team members on the ISACS staff.
The Director of Accreditation is based at the ISACS office in Chicago.
Candidates should have experience as a leader in an independent school and in the role of visiting team member, self-study coordinator, and/or staff member for an independent school accrediting association.
