Monadnock Waldorf School seeks a full time high school physical sciences teacher for main lesson blocks and skills classes beginning August, 2017. The position includes teaching math skills classes and (ideally) coordinating our computer programming curriculum. We also invite teachers to apply who may be interested in administrative responsibilities combined with a lesser teaching load. Candidates interested in guest teaching blocks only are also welcome to apply.
The ideal candidate will have completed or currently be enrolled in an AWSNA recognized Waldorf teacher education program. We look for candidates who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about teaching out of the philosophical and methodological principles of Waldorf Education—in particular, the Goethean/phenomenological approach to science—and who are committed to working with adolescents. Candidates with previous HS teaching experience receive preference, especially if that experience is in a Waldorf school. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related area; a Masters or PhD is preferred. Additional interests and skills in the arts, movement, outdoor education, student health and initiatives, are considered beneficial to candidacy.
For the right candidate or new teacher seriously interested in becoming a Waldorf teacher, MWS supports Waldorf training and provides in-school mentorship.
